Using past papers effectively as a part of your learning strategy…

Now we are in the Easter Term, the countdown to exams has already begun. Planning ahead really helps take the stress away from sitting those papers that have life changing results. In December, our Founder & Managing Director, Emma White joined Eleanor Marker of Home Education Matters for an interview about using past papers effectively so that exams don’t become filled with stress and panic. It’s a long listen but for home-educators there are many useful tips. Of particular interest is that Emma’s two sons  achieved 15 A*s and three As at GCSE, an A at AS and seven A*s at A Level (between them), as well as both accepting places at Cambridge University, all from home without tutoring, but of great importance is the fact that they never actually did any timed papers until the actual day of the exams – including the incredibly tightly timed NSAA. This interview shows how their rather unconventional approach paid off and how these exam skills are still now being used beyond university in their career choices.
